RESUMO

The focus of this work is on the absolute controllability of Hilfer impulsive non-instantaneous neutral derivative (HINND) with integral boundary condition of any order. Total controllability refers to the system's ability to be controlled during the impulse time. Kuratowski measure and semigroup theory in Banach space yield the results. Furthermore, we talked about optimal controllability in conjunction with appropriate limitations. Our established outcomes are described using an example.

RESUMO

Selectivity between Am3+ and Cm3+ was investigated after their aqueous complexation with three structurally tailored hydrophilic bis-(1,2,4-triazin-3-yl) ligands followed by their extraction with N,N,N'N'-tetraoctyl diglycolamide (TODGA) dissolved in an ionic liquid (C4mim·Tf2N). The three hydrophilic ligands used were SO3PhBTP, SO3PhBTBP, and SO3PhBTPhen. It was evident from the solvent extraction studies that SO3PhBTP formed a stronger complex with Cm3+ than with Am3+, but SO3PhBTPhen showed better complexation ability for Am3+ than for Cm3+, and SO3PhBTBP showed no selectivity for the two actinide ions. DFT calculations indicated that the coordinating 'N' atoms in BTP were more co-planar in the complex and this co-planarity was higher in the Cm3+ complex as compared to that in Am3+. In the case of BTBP and BTPhen ligands, on the other hand, the co-planarity was more pronounced in the Am3+ complexes. Mayer's bond order calculations of M-N bonds in the complexes also indicated a reversal of the complexation ability of the BTP and BTPhen ligands for Am3+ and Cm3+. Calculations of the complexation energies further supported the higher selectivity of the BTP ligand for Am3+ by -52.0 kJ mol-1, and better selectivity of the BTPhen ligand for Cm3+ by -24.7 kJ mol-1.

RESUMO

Internet has become integral part of day-to-day business to almost everybody, this result in diversified interests of customers. So as to catering to this intrinsic need, any E-Commerce firm to survive must be of cutting edge and competitive edge. The providers should not only to stay abreast with technologies where the life cycle of a technology is at its bare minimum and further dwindling They should also entertain the customers through inventively fine tuning the delicate parameters of website. This involves evaluating the usage pattern and trails of the customer left as a log, deriving pattern from click stream etc. However, the cutting edge technology applied by the big healthcare E-Commerce industries like private Cloud utilization (John et al., Optimization and Computing, 2012), web content mining enables them to attract and retain innumerable number of customers even during peak hours. According to the research carried out in this paper, there are two distinct types of online business based on web content promoted towards buy, they are classified as exhaustive promote and partial promote. Typically exhaustive promote website perform even complex web mining operations for identifying and enticing the potential customers to buy various healthcare products based on various factors such as buying habits, interests etc. However for the partial promote in the observed cases, they are not even aware of the existence of such techniques. Based on the analysis performed on various renounced online websites, if 60% and above of the web content leads the customer to perform the 'buy, then it is exhaustive promote the rest is considered as partial promote. Moreover a huge gap is observed between Partial and exhaustive promote when it comes to the deployment of the web mining techniques. Consequently to understand the varying role of web mining in the online business successes, this paper models the web mining as a Game in Cournot Model. The results show that the model suits the economics behind the online businesses in both the cases and thus helps to identify or enhance the underlying web mining techniques towards business success.

RESUMO

Converging evidence suggests bioenergetic abnormalities in bipolar disorder (BD). In the brain, phosphocreatine (PCr) acts a reservoir of high-energy phosphate (HEP) bonds, and creatine kinases (CK) catalyze the transfer of HEP from adenosine triphosphate (ATP) to PCr and from PCr back to ATP, at times of increased need. This study examined the activity of this mechanism in BD by measuring the levels of HEP molecules during a stimulus paradigm that increased local energy demand. Twenty-three patients diagnosed with BD-I and 22 healthy controls (HC) were included. Levels of phosphorus metabolites were measured at baseline and during visual stimulation in the occipital lobe using (31)P magnetic resonance spectroscopy at 4T. Changes in metabolite levels showed different patterns between the groups. During stimulation, HC had significant reductions in PCr but not in ATP, as expected. In contrast, BD patients had significant reductions in ATP but not in PCr. In addition, PCr/ATP ratio was lower at baseline in patients, and there was a higher change in this measure during stimulation. This pattern suggests a disease-related failure to replenish ATP from PCr through CK enzyme catalysis during tissue activation. Further studies measuring the CK flux in BD are required to confirm and extend this finding.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To compare the efficacy of nebulised budesonide with that of oral prednisone in the treatment of acute severe asthma in children. METHODS: Children aged 5-12 y with acute exacerbation of bronchial asthma were included. The study (budesonide) group received budesonide respirator solution (800 µg) at intervals of 20 min and a single dose of placebo tablets. The control (prednisolone) group received placebo solution at intervals of 20 min and a single dose of oral prednisolone (2 mg/kg). Both groups received three doses of nebulised salbutamol (0.15 mg/kg). Heart rate, respiratory rate, oxygen saturation, PEFR (Peak Expiratory Flow Rate) and fitness for discharge were assessed. RESULTS: Both groups showed a progressive decrease in tachycardia with treatment, but it was significantly greater in study group (p = 0.0002). There was significant decrease in tachypnea and improvement in oxygen saturation in both groups, but the difference between the groups (p = 0.334 and p = 0.814 respectively) was not significant. There was significant improvement in PEFR values in budesonide group (p = 0.024). Both groups showed significant improvement in clinical severity scores at the end of 2 h (p < 0.0001). Budesonide group had significantly higher proportion of patients fit for discharge at 2 h (based on clinical severity scores) (p = 0.0278). CONCLUSIONS: Nebulised budesonide significantly improves PEFR levels and fitness for discharge at 2 h when compared to oral prednisolone in children between 5 and 12 y with acute severe asthma.

RESUMO

Lung cancer is becoming a threat to mankind. Applying machine learning algorithms for detection and segmentation of irregular shaped lung nodules remains a remarkable milestone in CT scan image analysis research. In this paper, we apply ACO algorithm for lung nodule detection. We have compared the performance against three other algorithms, namely, Otsu algorithm, watershed algorithm, and global region based segmentation. In addition, we suggest a novel approach which involves variations of ACO, namely, refined ACO, logical ACO, and variant ACO. Variant ACO shows better reduction in false positives. In addition we propose black circular neighborhood approach to detect nodule centers from the edge detected image. Genetic algorithm based clustering is performed to cluster the nodules based on intensity, shape, and size. The performance of the overall approach is compared with hierarchical clustering to establish the improvisation in the proposed approach.

RESUMO

Nowadays, quality of service (QoS) is very popular in various research areas like distributed systems, multimedia real-time applications and networking. The requirements of these systems are to satisfy reliability, uptime, security constraints and throughput as well as application specific requirements. The real-time multimedia applications are commonly distributed over the network and meet various time constraints across networks without creating any intervention over control flows. In particular, video compressors make variable bit-rate streams that mismatch the constant-bit-rate channels typically provided by classical real-time protocols, severely reducing the efficiency of network utilization. Thus, it is necessary to enlarge the communication bandwidth to transfer the compressed multimedia streams using Flexible Time Triggered- Enhanced Switched Ethernet (FTT-ESE) protocol. FTT-ESE provides automation to calculate the compression level and change the bandwidth of the stream. This paper focuses on low-latency multimedia transmission over Ethernet with dynamic quality-of-service (QoS) management. This proposed framework deals with a dynamic QoS for multimedia transmission over Ethernet with FTT-ESE protocol. This paper also presents distinct QoS metrics based both on the image quality and network features. Some experiments with recorded and live video streams show the advantages of the proposed framework. To validate the solution we have designed and implemented a simulator based on the Matlab/Simulink, which is a tool to evaluate different network architecture using Simulink blocks.

RESUMO

This study intends to discuss enclosed a realistic approach to determine and analyze the effects of radio frequency on human exposure inside a cylindrical enclosure. A scenario in which a mobile phone with inverted-F antenna (IFA) operating in the Global System for Mobile Communication (GSM) band (900 MHz) is used inside a cylindrical enclosure. Metallic enclosures are known to have resonance and reflection effects, thereby increasing electric field strength and hence resulting in a change of the human exposure to electromagnetic absorptions. So, this study examines and compares the levels of absorption in terms of specific absorption rate (SAR) values under various conditions. In this study, a human phantom with dielectric properties is designed and its interaction is studied with IFA inside fully enclosed cylindrical enclosures. The results show that SAR values are increased inside cylindrical enclosures compared with those in free space. The method of computation uses method of moments. Simulations are done in FEKO software.

RESUMO

In India, the significant increase in the generation of municipal solid waste (MSW) during the last few decades is due to the rapid population and economic development. Though the appropriate attempts are made through the 3-'R' principles, waste management still needs to be envisaged seriously by everybody for a cleaner and greener environment. Rag-pickers, who contribute to solid waste management to some extent, are the people who rummage through garbage bins to pick out 'rags' for their livelihood. These rag-pickers usually collect the materials that have good re-sale value as these materials are mostly recycled or reused. In the present study, the collection and the management of solid waste and the level of microbial pollution generated through air, soil and solid waste were studied. A questionnaire survey based on age, sex, educational status, socio-economic status, habits and health effects was conducted from 65 randomly selected rag-pickers from various places of Tiruchirappalli city The results revealed that they can be properly educated and trained to protect themselves from unhygienic practices and addiction. Either the Government or non-governmental organizations (NGOs) should devise a suitable proposal to monitor and make use of these unorganized rag-pickers who are indispensable to the society.
